A submarine, with 12 tons of cocaine, was sunk by its crew when coastguards of Colombia and the U.S. intercepted it in the Pacific Ocean. According Colombian Admiral Edgar Cely, the submarine was detected by airforce aircrafts and chased several hours by Colombian and U.S. coastguards. The four sailors decided to sink the submarine before to be captured, but they had remains of cocaine in theirs clothes. Since 2005, Colombian navy has captured at least 12 submarines used to traffic cocaine from Colombia to the U.S. through the Pacific Ocean, and other 5 were caught in the Caribbean Ocean, also. However, all of them were discovered hidden in the coast or in building process.
